LIYUTAN








Liyutan’s Willow Bridge was built by the Japanese during the Japanese Occupation. It is said that the purpose of Willow Bridge is to facilitate traffic between the south and the north separating the Liyutan into north and south. Thanks to this bridge, Liyutan earns is reputation of “ little west lake”, the famed lake of Hangzhou.

According to legend, Liyutan had a Sacred Tree, when rain fell on the land and it flowed downhill into the lake about 200 years ago. Is it the truth? Many people want to know the answer. A local had a dream about Zhangmu Sacred Tree after the 921 earthquake. Sacred Tree told to him, “I want to keep people safe from harm or injury, you need to go find Xiangxiong Lin, Chairman of Fu-Chen International Development.“ After Chairman Lin offered his services and resources. In the Republic of China on March 14, 90(March 14, 2001), Zhangmu Sacred Tree finally was rescued from the bottom of Liyutan. After being certified by the Forestry Bureau service staff that Zhangmu Sacred Tree was over 500 years old and has been at the bottom of the lake for more than 200 years.

In 2013, a Blue Peacock Area was built in front of the Bat Feng Shui Poing. The visitors are always wowed by the peacocks when they display their brilliant plumage to entice females. What a surprise!

The trail is about 2.2 km. The floor has been cemented over. It's a great place take a stroll. Liyutan enjoys very rich natural resources and ecosystems of many kinds. You can enjoy beautiful and breathtaking natural scenery while strolling around the lake in tranquility.。

The entrance to the trail is located behind the Central Building at the end of the Willow Bridge. Stepping from the chip stones onto the flagstone paving, one can follow the trail around the side of the Mountain. All routes are well-maintained , in addition to 100 miles the hills. After walking 150 miles, you will arrive at Paragliding Place in Puli, a well-known activity also in Pingtung and Hualien.

I-Kuan Tao Tian-Yuan Temple is located on the hillside of Liyutan. The courtyard is divided into the main hall, Guangminglou, Thanksgiving Building, Zangjing Pavilion, Sanbao Tower, Baiyang Zu Shi Memorial Hall and Zu Shi Temple. Tianyuan Buddhist Temple, the most representative, is dedicated to the Baiyang cults, the ancestors of the ancestors, the Chinese Virgin and the ancient ancient Buddha, etc. On the top platform of the Buddhist temple, there are three pagodas, collectively known as the Three Pagodas. There are Starlight Pagoda, Sunlight Pagoda, Moonlight Pagoda and there are several floors in the tower, each tower has a golden bell, and the bells are shaped with stars, days and months. When the wind is blowing, the golden bell on the tower will jingle and release crisp and sweet sounds.
