LIYUTAN

Liyutan is located in Puli Township of Nantou County. The lake sits behind the geographic center of Taiwan, sprawling over 20 hectares. Any time you visit the lake, you will find the charming scenery of lake in different beauties. It is a beautiful heart-shaped lake in Puli Township. Liyutan has the distinctive atmosphere, qualites, feng shui stories that seem to show: “Shape”, “Implication”, “Aura”, although it is not explicitly stated.

Seven Feng Shui Stories

Carp Feng Shui PointLiyutan, literally translated as Carp Lake, is named after this Carp Feng Shui point because it is said to be the strongest Feng Shui point of the seven. It is located on the opposite side of Willow Bridge. Both sides of the lake as gills. The water gets cold in winter, however, the "Gills Area" water is warm and attracts fish to gather.

Shrimp Feng Shui PointShrimpi Feng Shui Point is located on the north side of the lake. When the shrimp is cooked, it turns red. So, residents are avoiding red, except the first day until fifth day of the lunar year.

Bat Feng Shui PointBat Feng Shui Point lies in the west, south of Liyutan. It is the place with the least sun and cold. The fog begins to gather and gradually spread to the entire surface of the lake in the morning.

Dragon Feng Shui PointIt is on the opposite side of the I-Kuan Tao Tian-Yuan Temple to the mountains. In order to preserve the Dragon's Feng Shui position intact, the temple is not built in the feng shui of the dragon. The feng shui position of the dragon is the highest in terms of altitude of the seven feng shui locations in Liyuten. The view is very beautiful.

Eagle Feng Shui PointEagle Feng Shui is located in the south of Liyutan and close to Dimu Temple in Puli . The temple is always bustling with pilgrims thanks to the good Feng Shui.

Turtle Feng Shui PointTurtle Feng Shui Point lies in the west of Carp Feng Shui Point. Residents believe that the Feng Shui of the turtle is the most kind. Residents attribute their longevity to this Feng Shui point.

Centipede Feng Shui PointCentipede Feng Shui Point lies in the Liyutan’s north. It can protect residents and bless them to live and work in peace and contentment. It is said that the mountain will automatically catch fire in order to allow centipede’s legs breathe some fresh air.

Willow Bridge

Liyutan’s Willow Bridge was built by the Japanese during the Japanese Occupation. It is said that the purpose of Willow Bridge is to facilitate traffic between the south and the north separating the Liyutan into north and south. Thanks to this bridge, Liyutan earns is reputation of “ little west lake”, the famed lake of Hangzhou.

Zhangmu Sacred Tree

According to legend, Liyutan had a Sacred Tree, when rain fell on the land and it flowed downhill into the lake about 200 years ago. Is it the truth? Many people want to know the answer. A local had a dream about Zhangmu Sacred Tree after the 921 earthquake. Sacred Tree told to him, “I want to keep people safe from harm or injury, you need to go find Xiangxiong Lin, Chairman of Fu-Chen International Development.“ After Chairman Lin offered his services and resources. In the Republic of China on March 14, 90(March 14, 2001), Zhangmu Sacred Tree finally was rescued from the bottom of Liyutan. After being certified by the Forestry Bureau service staff that Zhangmu Sacred Tree was over 500 years old and has been at the bottom of the lake for more than 200 years.

Peacock Garde

In 2013, a Blue Peacock Area was built in front of the Bat Feng Shui Poing. The visitors are always wowed by the peacocks when they display their brilliant plumage to entice females. What a surprise!

Lake Trail

The trail is about 2.2 km. The floor has been cemented over. It's a great place take a stroll. Liyutan enjoys very rich natural resources and ecosystems of many kinds. You can enjoy beautiful and breathtaking natural scenery while strolling around the lake in tranquility.。

Hutoushan Hiking Trail

The entrance to the trail is located behind the Central Building at the end of the Willow Bridge. Stepping from the chip stones onto the flagstone paving, one can follow the trail around the side of the Mountain. All routes are well-maintained , in addition to 100 miles the hills. After walking 150 miles, you will arrive at Paragliding Place in Puli, a well-known activity also in Pingtung and Hualien.

I-Kuan Tao Tian-Yuan Temple

I-Kuan Tao Tian-Yuan Temple is located on the hillside of Liyutan. The courtyard is divided into the main hall, Guangminglou, Thanksgiving Building, Zangjing Pavilion, Sanbao Tower, Baiyang Zu Shi Memorial Hall and Zu Shi Temple. Tianyuan Buddhist Temple, the most representative, is dedicated to the Baiyang cults, the ancestors of the ancestors, the Chinese Virgin and the ancient ancient Buddha, etc. On the top platform of the Buddhist temple, there are three pagodas, collectively known as the Three Pagodas. There are Starlight Pagoda, Sunlight Pagoda, Moonlight Pagoda and there are several floors in the tower, each tower has a golden bell, and the bells are shaped with stars, days and months. When the wind is blowing, the golden bell on the tower will jingle and release crisp and sweet sounds.
